    DARJEELING

    At an altitude of approximately 7000 feet, Darjeeling, the Queen of Hill station opens before your eyes an exquisitely beautiful panorama of the Himalayas. The snow capped Kanchenjunga Peak is also visible. Observing sunrise from Tiger Hill will be your lifetime experience.

    Built in 1881, Toy Train of Darjeeling is run by steam locomotives which are more than a century old. UNICEF has awarded the World Heritage status to this Toy Train.

    SHANTINIKETAN

    Shantiniketan was founded in 1901 by Noble Laureate Shri. Rabindra Nath Tagore who visualised a perfect harmony of humanity with nature. It is at a distance of 212 kms. from Kolkata and is well connected by road and rail, the nearest rail station being Bolpur. Besides the University, the complex at "Uttarayan" must be in the itinerary of tourists. Art gallery and museum are important to be seen.

    SUNDARBANS

    The World Heritage Committee of UNESCO inscribed 'The Sundarbans' in the World Heritage List. With a cobweb of innumerable creeks, canals the tributaries of the river Ganga and 54 small islands the Sundarbans is the natural heritage of West Bengal and is considered as the largest Estuarine Forest in the world. The dense mangroves in the mud flats, the birds sanctuaries in Lothian island and Sajnekhali, the hatchery cum sanctuary of crocodiles at Bhagabatpur, the in exhaustible natural stock of seeds of a large number of brachish water fish, prawn and crab, the dense forest at Kalashdwip and, above all, the Toyal Bengal Tigers in the Tiger Reserve, all taken together offer an enigma.

    DIGHA and MANDAR MONI

    About 185 kms. south west of Kolkata, on the Bay of Bengal, is the quiet beach town of Digha. It's 7 km beach, dotted with Casuarinas groves.

    About 162 kms. Mandar Muni is on the way to Digha, it is a virgin sea beach ideal for leisure weekends and also enjoy boating and angling.
