GOVT TRYING TO WATER DOWN LOKPAL BILL, SAYS ANNA HAZARE

Anti-corruption activists on Friday said the government was trying to water down the Lokpal Bill.

Hazare was speaking in New Delhi after breaking his vow of silence at the Rajghat.

Hazare says:

• Government's conscience on fighting corruption not clean.
• Government trying to water down Lokpal Bill.
• If Lokpal Bill is not passed by Winter Session of Parliament, we will campaign against the ruling party in the 2012 Uttar Pradesh elections.
• Movement for a strong Lokpal Bill will continue.
• I will campaign against this government in all states if the Lokpal Bill is not passed by Winter Session.
• There is no distinction between the Congress and the BJP for us.
• My team ready to face action if we are guilty of the allegations made against the members.
