Reacting strongly over the hike in petrol prices, West Bengal Chief
Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday criticised UPA for not taking her
views before giving nod to the Oil firms for fuel price hike.
The Trinamool Congress chief Banerjee Trinamool expressed her displeasure saying her party was not consulted before the announcement. She questioned why the fuel prices do not come down when the crude oil prices are low?
The TMC, which is the second largest ally of the UPA government, is unhappy with the Centre's decision to hike the petrol prices, which was taken without consulting it.
However, Banerjee said that she will never blackmail the UPA over the latest price hike though she is angry with its ally. She said that she will meet the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over the matter very soon.

Banerjee said that the UPA government has insulted her party for not consulting with them before the government took such serious decision, which is a kind of big pressure on the people of India.
She said that the TMC will withdraw the support from the government if the price hike continues further.
The TMC had called for an emergency parliamentary party meeting on Friday to decide any action to be taken against the UPA government. However, question did not arise to pull out from the government in the meeting.
