Mamata-Pranab inaugurated river reformation project

To combat the flooding condition in state, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee along with Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the river reformation project in Bhagabanpur Katakhali in East Midnapore. The total of Rs 650 crores will be invested in the entire project where river Keleghai along with number of rivers will be reformed. Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has been invited as chief guest. Centre will bear 75% of the total cost and rest by the state. She also inaugurates four express trains today. While addressing the crowd Pranab Mukherjee said this project will bring solution to the flood situation in East Midnapore. He further thanked chief minister Mamata Banerjee and her government to solve the land related issues regarding this project. The project will be completed in three years time but he expected that if everything works perfectly then government can complete the project before three years also. 








On the other hand Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said while addressing the crowd that total of Rs 1250 Crore small irrigation projects will be done for the benefit of farmers. Chief Minister further declared that three bridges will be constructed in the area for better transport facilities to carry crops and other products to help farmers to sell their products. Apart from this she asked all the farmers to purchase KISAN credit cards from BDO office and also requested them to insure their crops and land under crop insurance scheme whose entire premium will be paid by the state government. She further mentioned that Digha will be set up as tourist hub and Haldia will be set as industrial hub of Bengal. Lastly she told that state government will not take land forcefully from the farmers and will provide 3 katas of land to poor.
