65 all-woman police stations to be set up in West Bengal                                                   
                                                                                                                                                                    Kolkata: Altogether 65 all-woman police stations will be set up in 20  West Bengal districts to deal with rising crime against women, Chief  Minister Mamata Banerjee said here on Wednesday.
She said the officer in-charge and all guards would be women in these police stations.
In the first phase, 20 such police stations will be set up for which 1,100 women police personnel would be recruited.
The purpose was to deal with rising crime against women in the State  as well as to encourage women to join the police service, Ms. Banerjee  said.
Correctional home
Balurghat: An open correctional home will come up here and land for  it has been identified, West Bengal Jail Minister Shankar Chakraborty  said on Wednesday.
Discussions have been held with the State Finance Department and work  on the open jail will begin as soon as it is sanctioned, he said.
